Students’ Perception of The Importance and Effectiveness of Interactive Teaching and Learning Methods in Higher Education
Dr. Mihaela Martin, Dr. Nătălița-Mihaela Frumușanu
ABSTRACT:
This study looks at how using interactive teaching methods in university courses can influence the way students feel and learn. We were especially interested in whether these methods help students feel more motivated, work better together, develop stronger digital skills, and see their courses as more relevant for the job market. The research is based on a quantitative survey, a questionnaire about their learning experiences, completed by 437 students from 6 academic programs, within Babeș-Bolyai University, Reșița Center. The questionnaire included items about motivation, collaboration, digital competences, perceived professional relevance, and how effective students feel their learning experience is. The study builds on the idea that interactive methods can make students more involved and more confident in their learning compared with traditional approaches.
The expected results aim to show that when students are actively involved, rather than just listening, they tend to feel more engaged and see their learning as more meaningful and useful. Moreover, in the existing literature, motivation, collaboration, and the use of educational technology are mainly analyzed as separate dimensions, with relatively few studies examining them together as interconnected elements shaping students’ perceptions of their learning. By bringing these elements into one picture, the study highlights how interactive methods can make university learning more dynamic and better aligned with the skills students need nowadays.
