Corporate Social Responsibility and Social Science & Emerging Paradigms for Sustainable Development

Javeria Ali, Shahid Rafiq

ABSTRACT:

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has emerged as a strategic approach that integrates ethical governance, environmental sustainability, and social responsibility into business operations. Growing stakeholder expectations, rapid technological advancement, and global sustainability challenges have transformed CSR from a voluntary initiative into a fundamental component of organizational strategy. This paper examines the relationship between Corporate Social Responsibility and Social Science through a qualitative review of recent academic literature, policy reports, and industry best practices. The study explores emerging CSR paradigms, including Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices, circular economy, digital responsibility, climate action, responsible artificial intelligence, and inclusive growth. The findings indicate that organizations adopting socially responsible and sustainable business practices enhance stakeholder trust, organizational resilience, innovation, and long-term competitiveness while contributing significantly to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
