Blending Linkedin Learning into Classroom Strategies
Manasa Panikkamparambil Manomohanan
ABSTRACT:
While exploring various methods to bridge the gaps in our skills and knowledge for staff and students, the Centre for Research Informed Teaching and the Library Skills and Services of London South Bank University devised the strategy of integrating LinkedIn Learning with Moodle. LinkedIn Learning is an online resource platform that includes training videos and courses for personal and professional development. This paper provides insight into the benefits of leveraging the LinkedIn Learning platform providing a robust environment for student engagement, instructional methods, and learning resource oversight. This can be achieved by two distinct methods. The first method involves accessing LinkedIn Learning by integrating it with Moodle. This includes selecting the courses and videos by combining the URL with your Moodle module. The second method uses direct access to LinkedIn Learning using a university login. Each student and staff can access their LinkedIn Learning account using their university log-in. The account enables each of them to keep track of their learning history, their learning paths, and their collections. Recently, we successfully integrated LinkedIn Learning with Moodle, enabling module leaders to embed videos into their Moodle site seamlessly and encouraging them to provide their students with a blended teaching and learning experience. This also includes our research on streamlined techniques to use LinkedIn Learning to redefine personalised learning paths aligned with teaching goals and to set up collections on a subject you decide.
