Attitude towards ICT by Country during the Pandemic
Estefanía Lema-Moreira, Susana Del Río-Urenda, Cynthia Ramos-Monsiváis
ABSTRACT:
The pandemic has changed the way of learning, from face-to-face learning in coexistence with online learning, to fully online learning. This has implied great changes in the learning methodologies used so far. This exploratory study aims to determine the attitudes of university students towards the use of ICT, establishing, in turn, whether there are differences between Mexican university students and Spanish university students. For this purpose, a sample of 360 subjects was taken, and Dimension 2 of the questionnaire for assessing the digital skills of teachers (Agreda Montoro, Hinojo Lucena, & Sola Reche, 2016) was applied. A contingency analysis has been applied, studying the differences between countries through the χ² and Fisher’s exact test, as well as the degree of association through the Mantel-Haenszel test. The main results show the need for prior ICT training and its influence on the positive attitude of students towards ICT. In turn, students consider the time teachers spend on ICT to be positive.
