ABSTRACT:

In a number of different educational institutions, students’ viewpoints often remain overlooked by the system in place. Within this context, this study aims to highlight the importance of recognizing students’ viewpoints and the consequences of neglecting them. By examining the existing literature and conducting semi-structured interviews with students, this research explores the diverse reasons why students’ viewpoints remain unrecognized. Such reasons include power dynamics, communication barriers, and institutional biases. Furthermore, this study emphasizes the potential benefits of recognizing students’ viewpoints. These benefits include the enhancement of students’ engagement, promoting constructive learning environments, and increasing students’ satisfaction. Acknowledging students’ insightful feedback ameliorates their learning-teaching process.
This research aims to foster open dialogues that reflect students’ viewpoints, thereby empowering them to be active participants in their learning- teaching process.
The implications of the research can help educational institutions to tailor their teaching methods to the students’ needs, leading to improved educational outcomes and a more equitable learning environment.
Through this recognition, schools and universities can better tailor their teachings to the needs and aspirations of students, leading to improved educational outcomes and a more equitable learning environment.
