Enhancing Learner Experience through AI-based Personalized Learning: A Case Study at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University

The implementation of personalized learning has the capacity to revolutionize educational experiences by tailoring instruction to meet the unique needs and preferences of each individual learner. The objective of this research is to examine the effects of an artificial intelligence-based customized educational platform on the academic performance and educational experience of learners enrolled at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University. The system under consideration enables educators to upload educational resources, while learners can engage with an artificially intelligent mentor by submitting inquiries via a chat interface that is integrated within the course materials. The system utilizes advanced technologies such as Langchain, Pinecone, and LLM Model to enable customized and instantaneous feedback and assistance.
The study assesses two distinct cohorts of students, one of which has been granted access to an AI-driven personalized learning platform, while the other serves as a control group without such access. The research assesses the disparities in educational experience, involvement, and scholastic achievement among the two cohorts. Furthermore, the study gathers qualitative feedback from both educators and learners to acquire insights into the usability and efficacy of the system.
The results of our study suggest that the implementation of an AI-based personalized learning system has a notable positive impact on the learner experience. This is evidenced by heightened levels of engagement, improved comprehension, and enhanced academic achievement. The present study underscores the potential of personalized learning based on artificial intelligence in higher education establishments and underscores the significance of ongoing research and development to enhance its implementation and efficacy.
