A philosophical distinction between static and dynamic approaches to education

Hillel Wahrman, PhD

ABSTRACT:

Educators may respond to contrary educational ideas in two distinct ways. Educators of a static ontology and epistemology seek to build a consistent and stable educational worldview that withstands the changing winds of educational fashions and fads – they adopt an either-or approach; Educators of a dynamic ontology and epistemology seek to build an inconsistent ever-changing and complex educational worldview – and adopt a pluralistic approach. This presentation aims at demonstrating these two approaches in cases of contradictory educational ideas.
