ABSTRACT:

The study developed a teaching model for inclusive education programs in Malaysia by integrating Visual Art Education (VAE) and Cooperative Learning. The model was designed using the Fuzzy Delphi Method (FDM) with 16 experts in VAE, Special Education, and Curriculum Development, to identify and establish consensus on the elements to teach VAE. The FDM questionnaire consisting of seven Likert Scale was created based on the themes that emerged from interviews and analysis documents, and the consensus was determined using the defuzzification value. To determine consensus for items in the questionnaire, the defuzzification value was computed for each item, and a threshold of 0.75 (d) was utilized. To select the items in each construct of the model, an alpha-cut value of >0.5 was used. The elements were ranked to prioritize those that required emphasis during the implementation of the model. The consensus was reached on the 30 items that comprised the five constructs of the Co-In Art Model: Objective, Content, Activities, Application, and Evaluation. This approach was used to develop an effective teaching model that incorporates VAE and caters to the diverse needs of students in mainstream education. In conclusion, The Co-In Art model developed using the FDM can be used as a guide for teachers to enhance learning outcomes of Inclusive Education Program students learning VAE in Malaysia. The integration of cooperative learning and technology application in the teaching model can promote creativity, critical thinking, and social skills among students with diverse abilities.
