Monitoring and Evaluation the Quality of Vocational School to Enhance the Educational Quality Assurance and Respond to a Changing World in the Future

ABSTRACT: 

The objectives of this research were 1) to develop the factors and indicators of the quality of vocational educational school that enhancing the educational quality assurance and responding to a changing world in the future. 2) to monitor and evaluate the developed indicators of vocational education schools. The research methodology employed mixed methods research with sequential exploratory design. The sample group were of 3 vocational schools, 252 administrators, and 10 vocational professional experts. The research tools were an in-depth interview form, questionnaire. Data analysis used analytic induction, frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation. correlation coefficient, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) by using M-Plus program. Research findings were as follows. 1) Factors and indicators of the quality of vocational education schools developed, consisting of 7 factors and 21 indicators including, Innovations for National Development, Infrastructure to Support the Future, Partnership Network, Curriculum that Responds to the Future Global Change, Teacher Competence and New Skills, Student’s Competence and New Skills , and the Center for Career Development and Entrepreneurship. 2) The results of monitoring and evaluating the quality of vocational schools according to the factors and indicators found that most of vocational schools had implemented quality development at a fair to very good level. The indicator with the highest performance was that the vocational school have Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with enterprises in the management of vocational education in the bilateral system and the least performance indicators were courses in biofuels and biochemicals, for example, pneumatic globe valve maintenance courses, etc.
