ABSTRACT:

During the covid-19 pandemic, students and teachers have experienced different forms of learning and training including online, offline, or hybrid modes which require teachers and students new teaching and learning methods. The research has focused more and more on the digitalization of teaching, learning and evaluating learners in higher education. In this context, the writer tries to demonstrate the application of learning management system (LMS) and training management system (TMS) to investigate the efficacy, course evaluation and improvement to undergraduate students in the new technical era in compared to traditional classrooms, and to show the difficulties of teachers in designing activities to these courses. To that purpose, student performance, tests and course attendance check are quite different from the identical courses’ settings in the past using a conventional, non-digitalized environment. The qualitative statements from the course evaluations and the expectations that students give throughout the course are investigated in addition to the quantitative data of the research. Findings from the research also show many difficulties that lecturers may face in teaching and designing activities to help undergraduates in any form—on-site or online. Students may find that learning is neither simpler nor harder because of digital education; however, the writer did notice that the performance difference and understanding gap between students reduced during digital teaching periods. In the future, we suggest doing a long-term analysis of the ongoing digitalization era and strengthening the opportunities of a long-term shift to digital education in higher education institutions
