Halimah Mohamed Ali

ABSTRACT:

This paper is a review of the author’s sabbatical research in Turkey in October and November 2019 and her thoughts on the country. It must be emphasized that this research took place before the new normal that was implemented on the whole world due to the Covid19 emergency. The author reached her country Malaysia in time, after a two week’s research in the British Library in December 2019, two months before the first case of Covid19 was announced. This paper is a memory of the normalcy that existed before the new normal was implemented. This was the author’s first trip into Turkey, and it has been an educational and spiritually fulfilling experience. This essay is also a photographic journey of some parts of Turkey.
