The Impact of Blockchain Technology and Supply Chain Innovation Capabilities on Supply Chain Performance in the Manufacturing Sector
To sustain in today’s competitive world and excel in business performance, companies need to continuously bring innovations and technologies. Many organizations are adopting blockchain technology in their supply chain for a variety of purposes such as efficiency, privacy, cost reduction, quick information flow, and so on. The study, thus, aims at identifying the effect of blockchain adoption on supply chain performance. Besides, the role of supply chain innovation capabilities on supply chain performance is also examined. The study adopts a quantitative research approach by analyzing the data collected from 100 respondents working in management positions of different manufacturing firms in Amman, Jordan. The results from structural equation modeling show that all the relationships are positive and significant. Blockchain has a significant positive influence on supply chain performance, and supply chain innovation capabilities. Besides, the direct effects of supply chain innovation capabilities on supply chain performance is also significant. The paper offers policy implications from both theoretical and practical perspectives for managers, researchers, and academicians.
