ABSTRACT:
The Covid-19 pandemic has been going on for more than a year, as the virus was first discovered back in late 2019 (Shareen et al., 2020). Education is one of the most impacted sectors during the pandemic, teachers around the world are expected to change their approaches, making sure that students are still able to learn without attending school and have the ‘normal’ learning circumstances (UNESCO et al., 2020). This research is a follow-up from our previous research related to teachers’ self-regulation learning strategies as learners to cope with the new teaching and learning circumstances during the pandemic (Go & Kurniawan, 2021). Through this research, we investigate how teachers tell about their teaching experience during the covid 19 pandemic and how resilience appears in the teachers’ stories. Therefore the research question is twofold: how resilience appears in the teachers’ stories about their teaching experience during the Covid-19 Pandemic, and how teacher resilience and self-regulated learning strategies relate to one another. The result of the study shows that out of 4 teachers as participants in this study, all of them have reached growing phases through adversity (Covid-19 Pandemic) according to the four-cycle phase of resilience (Pattterson & Kelleher, 2005). The participants’ self-regulated learning process was also evident, notably the evaluation and forethought phase of SRL (Usher & Schunk, 2018; B. J. Zimmerman, 2011; Barry J. Zimmerman & Schuck, 2001)
