Understanding Womanism and its Effect on Ceile in The Color Purple
Feminism is a sensitive topic to discuss, yet, it is a topic that many Americans should have. Women constantly defend themselves against misogynistic views, contraception rights, abortion, equal pay, politics, etc. As an economy, we should be proactive in combating laws that challenge women’s social, political, and economic issues. It should be the goal to effect change that positively reflects the thoughts and perspectives of women. Patriarchs tend to make decisions concerning women without having extensive knowledge about their circumstances. The goal of the article is to raise awareness about the struggles that women have had throughout history and to acknowledge how these struggles have impacted our society and education. The three stages of feminism will emphasize women’s rights, highlight womanism, and underscore the complexity of women in today’s society.
