Job Attractiveness: Remote Work, Salary, or Company Size?
Imane Habitou
ABSTRACT:
The covid19 pandemic has brought about many changes that although thought of temporary were permanent. One notable change is the change in the labour market and the working models. While the covid-19 required distance and low human mobility the economic wheel had to keep turning in one way or another. Ignoring the fact that many sectors had to continue attending their work physically like the production and health sectors, we would like to understand further this new working model that is here to stay. In this paper we are attempting to understand the attractiveness of job positions based on three features; the job location; in terms of whether it is remote or onsite, the company size: holding large companies as a reflection of prestigious and multinational companies compared to small start-ups, and the salary offered as of whether this salary is above or below market wage. Using a factorial survey experiment we would like to understand the importance of remote work on setting a specific job position attractive and whether it has a higher effect on the individuals’ impressions towards jobs when compared to the salary and the company size.
