Transformational Leadership and Sustainable Development: The Mediating Role of Organizational Learning in the Public Sector

ABSTRACT:
Organizational Sustainability has become one of the critical concepts that the public sector is looking to consider. In this study, two variables have been selected as a link to the organizational sustainability. Transformational Leadership and the practices that effective leaders take which will have a positive impact on the sustainability, and also taking into considerations the organizational learning as a mediating role which can be also impacted positively by the transformational leadership. The findings of the survey showed a positive impact of the transformational leadership and organizational learning on the organizational sustainability. It’s also showed that both males and females agreed on that positive impact. As this mutual understanding is not only among people holding managerial roles it’s also agreed by the participants who is not managers at the current stage. The findings are expected to help the people in the public sector to consider following the transformational leadership style in addition to put more efforts on the organizational learning to reach the organizational sustainability.
