ABSTRACT:

Education is a road map of the nation development, which conveys the value of society and the purpose of the nation, where both of those formulas are invested in a curriculum. Poverty is a real and lifetime challenges for education development and country improvement, yet it is important to be highlighted that poverty is a collective leadership failure of leaders in providing both quality of education and welfare to the society. This study examines a social collaborative action served by social workers from Yayasan Kesejahteraan Masyarakat Aceh or Aceh Welfare Foundation (Yakesma) and educators from Ar-Rasyid Pre-School and Madrasah Ibtidayyah Qur’anic Character in Aceh, Indonesia, to provide a proper education to the children from underprivileged family, beggars, and sexual violence children, especially post conflict and disaster. The samples of this qualitative approach study are social workers from Yakesma, teachers and principals, also parents from underprivilege family, from Ar-rasyid’ pre-school and MI Quranic Character. Both schools are operating free schools for underprivilege children, who mostly stay at orphanage or with family that have financial and social issues. An assessment is conducted by social workers following to a referring child, to identify any further intervention needed by the children. They are also struggling to build an education support system through monitoring, mentorship, and foster parent program. This study proved that a combined action of social workers, educators, and society in providing equal education to the children from lower income family and sexual violence, have given a significant impact to the children and family, to have access to a proper education, formal and non-formal education, financial support through a poster parent program, role substitute of parents. This collaborative program is expected to bring a positive leadership reform to leaders, which lead to a pathway of poverty reduction in Aceh, Indonesia.
