ABSTRACT:

The current Tigray war with Ethiopian and Eritrean forces has made Tigrayan origin international students develop some psychological impact on their lives. However, the ongoing war in Tigray is still creating mental and psychological unrest over all Tigrayan students and others in the diaspora community. The objective of the study was to investigate the psychological impacts of the ongoing Tigray war on the international students of Tigrayan origin. A structured online interview was used to collect information from international students of Tigrayan origin.  35 participants filled and responded to the online interview items. The data collected from the online written interview was analyzed using thematic analysis. The ongoing war in Tigray has caused so much psychological and mental unrest on the students who came from Tigray. All the student participants have suffered stressful events and situations worrying too much about the people of Tigray and family members, and fear of losing loved ones.
