Evaluating the Key Indicators of Organizational Resilience Based on Linguistic Z-numbers
Prof. Dr. Chen-Tung Chen
ABSTRACT:
In recent years, frequent global crises have prompted organizational leaders to recognize that organizational resilience (OR) is central to crisis response and value creation within environments marked by volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity. Consequently, establishing comprehensive organizational resilience (OR) assessment procedures and frameworks is essential to strengthen organizational resilience and enhance risk-coping capabilities. However, numerous factors influence organizational resilience, encompassing both qualitative and quantitative dimensions. Failure to consider both types of measurement indicators simultaneously risks introducing bias into assessment outcomes. Furthermore, during the assessment process, experts possess varying professional backgrounds, experiences, and preferences, making their subjective opinions prone to ambiguity and complicating analytical evaluations. Linguistic variables enable experts to fully express their subjective assessment information while reducing ambiguity. Therefore, this study employs linguistic variables as a foundation, integrating linguistic Z-numbers with Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (Fuzzy AHP) to calculate each expert’s fuzzy weight values for indicators. Subsequently, by integrating the fuzzy weights of multiple experts, this study proposes a ranking method for interval weight values using a dominance function. This constructs a systematic key indicator assessment model for organizational resilience, thereby identifying critical indicators to assist enterprises in decision-making analysis regarding organizational resilience issues.
