The University as A Space of Recognition and Technology as An Institutional Bridge: The Corre Platform for The Social Reintegration of Formerly Incarcerated Individuals

Gregorio De Andrade

ABSTRACT:

This study addresses one of the most critical challenges in contemporary education and public policy: the social and educational reintegration of formerly incarcerated individuals. In Latin America, prison systems often produce long-term exclusion, limiting access to higher education, employment, and institutional recognition.

This paper presents the development of the CORRE platform, a digital solution designed to act as an institutional bridge between universities, justice systems, civil society organizations, and individuals reentering society after incarceration. The platform integrates educational pathways, legal support, and social opportunities into a single digital environment.

Grounded in critical criminology and educational theory, the project proposes that higher education institutions can function as spaces of recognition, promoting inclusion and reducing recidivism. Technology, in this context, is not merely a tool but a mechanism of institutional articulation.
The research adopts a qualitative and exploratory methodology, combining theoretical analysis with the design and implementation of the platform. Expected outcomes include improved access to education, strengthened institutional networks, and enhanced social reintegration processes.
The CORRE platform is presented as a scalable and adaptable model with potential application in different national contexts, contributing to global discussions on education, inequality, and justice.
