Despite the significance of communication in community practice and development work, the current Development Studies curriculum at Kyambogo University still needs a well-structured approach to teaching effective communication skills. Improved student competency in oral, written, and digital communication. Increased student confidence in facilitating community development activities. Strengthened university-community partnerships through practical field communication engagements. Conclusion: Infusing communication skills into the Development Studies curriculum bridges the theory-practice gap and prepares graduates to become effective change agents in Uganda’s development landscape. A participatory and skills-based teaching model enhances employability, field engagement, and overall program relevance.
