The Mediating Role of Technology Management Between Learning Management System Utilization and Private Higher Educational Institutions Performance of University of Cebu Campuses

Nicholas Banal

ABSTRACT:

This research seeks to explore the mediating role of technology management in the relationship between the LMS usage, and the performance of private higher education institutions (HEIs) based on the University of Cebu campuses. This assumption is made on the premise that the effective management of technology (i.e., IT governance, infrastructure quality, technical support, and staff training) is an important determinant in the linkage of LMS use to better academic and administrative performance. Through such work, the study seeks to contribute to the understanding of the strategic integration of digital learning resources to satisfy the institution objectives. The research findings suggest that technology management is at the core of the intervention for mediating and strengthening the positive relationship between learning management system (LMS) use and HEI performance, particularly in terms of the teaching-learning effectiveness, the operational efficiency, and the student satisfaction. Such results will assist the education institutions (HEIs) in maximizing technology management practices through LMS, thereby maximizing the educational performance through enhancement using technology-based tools.
