Learning the Albanian Language at School through Electronic Books (traditional Texts Versus Electronic Texts)
Natasha Porocani, Flavio Porocani
ABSTRACT:
This study aims to examine the role of the electronic book (e-book) in the acquisition of the Albanian language in the Albanian school, taking into consideration the challenges and benefits that this digital tool brings to teaching. In the era of digitalization, the inclusion of new technologies in the learning process coincides with the need to modernize traditional methods of teaching the mother tongue and to develop language competences focused on interaction and creativity.
The paper is based on the results of the survey of a total of 131 teachers on the interaction of the Albanian language learning and the digital learning process, the creation of opportunities to promote more advanced reading and writing skills, through which the e-book offers more direct and personalized interaction with learners. The study focuses on the aspects of interactivity that the e-book offers, contributing to improving the involvement and motivation of students.
Also, this research deals with the connection between digital and linguistic competences, where the use of e-books serves as a bridge to develop new skills of critical reading, analytical thinking and efficient communication. However, the inclusion of e-books is met with skepticism on the part of teachers, who often show hesitation due to a lack of experience and proper preparation in digital teaching.
In conclusion, this study suggests the need for a wider institutional support and professional training for teachers, to make the most of the potential of the electronic book in the acquisition of the Albanian language in Albanian schools.
