ABSTRACT:

This research focuses on the historical development of volunteering and its influence on the process of professionalization of social work during the 1990s. The research focuses on events and changes in the way volunteering has become one of the important pillars of social work development. The research examines the role of volunteers in social work in the 20th century, explores their relationship with social work professionals and analyses how the boundaries between volunteering and professionalized social work have been gradually shaped. The final section reflects on current trends and challenges in volunteering and its role in social work.

The aim of the thesis is to provide a comprehensive view of the development of volunteering and its impact on social work, thereby contributing to a better understanding of current trends and opportunities for collaboration between volunteers and social work professionals.
