Chahira Zernadji

ABSTRACT:

This research investigates the current state and challenges of Arabic language education in Algerian universities. By examining existing curricula, teaching methodologies, and student outcomes, this study aims to identify the factors hindering effective Arabic language teaching and learning. The research will delve into issues such as inadequate resources, lack of qualified faculty, and the dominance of French and English in academic discourse. Through surveys, interviews, and document analysis, data will be collected from a sample of students at the Faculty of Arts and Arabic Language, University of Mohamed Khider Biskra, during the period 2014-2024. By identifying the root causes of these challenges, this research seeks to propose evidence-based recommendations to enhance Arabic language education in Algerian higher education institutions.
