ABSTRACT:

Many efforts have been made to empower women in the UAE’s political, social, cultural, educational and economic fields since women’s contributions have been recognized for the country’s development. The current review study presents a systematic review of the importance of women empowerment in the UAE. It intends to identify what are the social-cultural variables and determinants that have an impact on empowering women in the UAE. In addition, this recommends future researchers the consequences involved in such socio-cultural factors within the UAE. In this review, various articles are used from different sources like EBSCO, Google Scholar, and ProQuest. A set of inclusion and exclusion criteria has been used in this study to search and review different databases and choose several articles of the highest calibre for review. Initially, 110 articles collected. After eliminating the 78 duplicate articles, 32 articles met the inclusion criteria. In practice, the significance of this review study lies in the fact that it summarizes and addresses all social-cultural variables and determinants that have an impact on empowering women in the UAE.
