The Differentiation of “Professionalization”: The Career Training of Yuesao and Multi-agent Action Logic

ABSTRACT:

In recent years, under the impetus of China’s birth policy,media and customer needs, Yuesao(mother-baby caregivers) has stood out among domestic workers,which has become a large number of women’s reemployment choice,and the training industry of Yuesao has also become “professional”. However, existing researches do not highlight the Yuesao groups, and also ignore the formation process of the professionalization as well as the role of market.Through field observation and 19 in-depth interviews in 3 Yuesao training institutions in China, on the one hand,it is found that the professionalization of Yuesao training has experienced a process of gradual refinement and upgrading.Moreover, there is a contradiction in the professionalization in the existing market, which poses a new challenge to the selection of suitable courses for Yuesao.On the other hand,in the process of “professionalization”, the macro national gender system, the meso market monopoly and the micro subject self-realization have brought more detailed differentiation of female labor groups.The findings of this study is helpful to inspire the establishment of a more perfect supervision system in the training of the care industry, and the result of differentiation also attempts to call for the introduction of fertility-friendly and female-friendly welfare policies to promote the healthy development of the care industry.
