ABSTRACT:
This study deals with the issue of learning Arabic Collocation by using Augmented Reality technology as it seeks to help students to learn through the design of an instructional module of learning. The objectives are to know the learning difficulties experienced by learners majoring in learning Arabic Collocation (AC, to identify student’s preference on multimedia element in the augmented reality (AR) technology, to design the instructional module using the augmented reality technology and to know its usability of the Mobile application of learning Arabic Collocation using technology Augmented Reality. This study adopted descriptive, analytical, design, development, implementation and evaluation methodologies known as ADDIE Model for instructional design. The researchers collected information about the difficulties in learning Arabic Verb Patterns, perception of using AR and its element. The findings from the needs analysis phase indicate that AR is an innovative tool in helping the students to interact with the real world and enhance their learning experiences through a virtual environment. Based on the students’ feedback, suggestions and needs, the researchers will design and develop an instructional module of learning Arabic Collocation via AR application via an instructional design model of ADDIE. In the last phase of this study, a mobile application, known as AR Collocation, was designed and implemented among respondents among advance learner of Arabic Language at International Islamic University Malaysia. This study found that learning Arabic Collocation through Augmented Reality technology has contributed positively to their study and the researcher urge that this model of module to be used and implemented in different areas of teaching and learning Arabic as a second language.
