Enhancing Successful Teamwork To Create A Positive Work Environment Through Nursing Education
Sabina Ličen, Mirko Prosen
ABSTRACT:
Emphasising the importance of effective teamwork in nursing education is essential for promoting a positive and efficient working environment, which is the focus of this study. By involving 512 nurses working on different levels of healthcare, including nursing homes, this study uses the standardised Assessment for Collaborative Environments (ACE-15) questionnaire. The analysis, conducted using IBM SPSS software version 29.0, shows that ACE-15 scores indicate a moderate level of teamwork performance. Statistical tests, including the Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal-Wallis test, found no significant differences in teamwork between gender, job roles, or levels of healthcare (p > 0,05). A linear regression analysis examining factors such as age and length of service in healthcare teams also found that these aspects did not significantly predict teamwork performance (p > 0,05). These findings emphasise the complexity of teamwork in healthcare and reinforce the need to continuously improve teamwork skills in nursing education. By integrating new content and methods into the curriculum, nursing education can effectively prepare future nurses for the demands of teamwork in healthcare and thus contribute to a more supportive working environment.
