Digital Transformation in Paraguayan MSMEs

Dr. Raúl Marcelo Ferrer-Dávalos

ABSTRACT:

This study is based on the analysis of 8 dimensions related to digital transformation. In each of these dimensions, important aspects are analyzed to measure the level of transformation and digital maturity of MSMEs operating in Paraguay. A total of 393 valid responses were obtained. Data collection was carried out during the months of July to October 2023. The data collection technique was carried out using a survey-type questionnaire composed of 74 questions. The main results show that in terms of the use of technology and digital skills, a high adoption of computing equipment stands out, as well as a significant interest in increasing digitalization. However, there is variability in the level of knowledge and ease of use of digital technology. In terms of digital transformation strategies, there is an opportunity to improve training in digital technology, as well as updating websites and social networks. Internet presence and digital promotion are common, but the adoption of advanced cybersecurity measures can be reinforced. Regarding organizational culture and leadership, the need to improve data and information management, as well as the categorization of clients with digital technology, is identified. It is suggested to promote awareness and adoption of more advanced cybersecurity measures.
