Modification of Kazakhstan’s journalism in the digital environment

ABSTRACT: 

The world continues to transform classical journalism into a system of new media and this problem is relevant for the Republic of Kazakhstan nowadays. The study of the elements, complexity and conditions of communication processes is the main focus of this research. The key trend has become the connection between journalism and digital environment. It is necessary to dynamically monitor the ongoing transformation and its results in the mass media of Kazakhstan. Quantitative changes in the traditional media of Kazakhstan occurred in leaps and bounds: by 1990 there were about 500, in 1995 – 4352, in 2015 – 1898, in 2023 – 5407, of which 3779 compose periodic printed publications, 194 television channels, 588 – news agencies, 1062 online publications (country population – 18,671,900). The population is an active consumer of information, creating structures of new media audiences. Currently, every citizen who have an electronic gadget with internet access is a newsmaker. Mass media not only remain a mirror of events, but they also convey to audiences’ different points of view on what is happening. The UN Electronic Participation Index (EPI) is growing; it amounted to 0.86 points in 2022, which confirms the participation of the majority of population in discussing the current Agenda. This means that the population’s possession of media literacy competencies plays an important role. There is a gender balance and greater openness than before. Methods of scientific research are medical systems. Its classification and formalization. The predicted results include hypotheses about the possibility of a conflict between fact and opinion, platformization, and new forms of fact-taking. An modification and effectiveness, and gives a chance to find new emerging patterns of mass media. The reason for both increasing and decreasing in the amount of copper in changes political, economic and social situation through modifications of journalism technologies. The internet enhances freedom of information and flexibility in the collection, processing and dissemination of data.
