ABSTRACT:

With the synergy of academia with technology, technology with research, research with industry, industry with economy, economy with social innovation and social innovation with Peace, we are committed to make MIT- WPU a world class space of intellectual excellence, where reason and rationality reigns, humanism rules, and learning becomes a great adventure. MIT-WPU believes that peace would be established in society through value based Universal Education System which inspires to give back to the society. The first part highlights some challenges and various aspects in higher education related to value education and preparing students for life along with academic growth. It also talks about the need of incorporating ethical aspects to cater to the wider perspective as an outcome of education.  After a brief introduction, it focuses on certain policies/modules implemented by MIT-WPU, Pune to carry out this Herculean task. The second part of the paper deals with the World Peace Component modules being offered with a different approach to get a hold of the problem. It also throws light on the methodology of delivering these modules in the most practical and simple ways. In conclusion, this paper illustrates and validates the practices of World Peace Component for holistic development of Engineering Students. It also points out the mission and vision being accomplished with such unique practices. It remarks on the need, innovation and more research in the same domain to cater to engineering students at large.
