ABSTRACT:

Present paper discusses the results of a survey conducted among second-year students of Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania Teacher Training Institute. We assessed the regularity with which students study outside of class hours, the learning techniques they use to learn effectively in class and during independent learning, the extent to which they consider their own learning habits to be effective, and the extent to which different factors help to maintain the learning motivation. The results of the survey encourage further work: on one hand, we will use this knowledge to plan the continuation of our study, on the other hand, we will strive to emphasise in our teaching work the issue of effective independent learning.
