ABSTRACT:

This manuscript conceptualizes and advocates for the establishment of teaching and learning centres within institutions of higher education. These centres are envisioned as transformative hubs designed to foster pedagogical innovation, enhance faculty development, and improve student learning outcomes. By providing both theoretical insights and practical strategies, the manuscript seeks to explore the fundamental role, design, and implementation of such centres, offering a comprehensive framework for their creation and sustainability.
The manuscript is grounded in the Constructivist Learning Theory, which emphasizes active and experiential knowledge construction, and Organizational Change Theory, which examines how institutions can implement and sustain initiatives effectively. These theoretical perspectives underscore the potential of teaching and learning centres to promote student-centred education while empowering educators to embrace innovative approaches to teaching and curriculum development.
Through a desktop-based research methodology, the study systematically reviews secondary data sources, including academic literature, case studies, institutional reports, and policy documents. This approach provides a robust foundation for examining the effectiveness, challenges, and best practices associated with teaching and learning centres globally. Ethical considerations are prioritized by ensuring the accuracy and integrity of cited information, respecting intellectual property rights, and adhering to proper citation practices throughout the research process.
The findings contribute significantly to the ongoing discourse on educational innovation in higher education. By offering actionable recommendations, the manuscript aims to inform policymakers, educators, and institutional leaders about the transformative potential of teaching and learning centres.
