Transforming Education Policy and Administration in Saudi Universities: Aligning Governance, Curriculum, and Technology with Vision 2030 Objectives

ABSTRACT:
This study examines the evolving landscape of education policy and administration in Saudi universities, focusing on their alignment with the ambitious objectives of Vision 2030. It delves into the governance structures, curriculum development strategies, and technological advancements driving reform in higher education. Saudi universities play a pivotal role in nurturing a skilled workforce and fostering innovation, essential for transitioning to a knowledge-based economy. The research highlights key policy initiatives, such as enhancing administrative efficiency, promoting international collaborations, and integrating global accreditation standards while preserving Saudi Arabia’s cultural and Islamic identity. Challenges, including balancing traditional values with modern educational demands, addressing resource allocation, and overcoming barriers to access and equity, are critically analyzed. Additionally, the study underscores the importance of leadership development and capacity-building for faculty and administrators to sustain the momentum of change.
By identifying successful practices and areas needing improvement, this study provides actionable recommendations for policy and administrative reforms. It envisions a dynamic higher education system capable of producing globally competitive graduates, advancing research excellence, and contributing to Saudi Arabia’s socioeconomic development in line with Vision 2030.
