ABSTRACT:

Justice, hopelessness, and the chaos situation in Nigeria are quite worrisome, as they affect the masses terribly. The destruction this has caused on the human psyche and the economy of the country is alarming. The issue of societal affiliations in Nigeria examines the social, economic, and political narratives in the country. The pursuit of justice in Nigeria is a complex journey, and it is obvious that corruption, lies, deceit, military rule, political instability, bribery, and election issues, to mention these, have affected the Nigerian judiciary, leading to the denial of justice to the average Nigerian. Using Akachi-Adimorah Ezeigbo’s Broken Bodies, Damaged Souls and Other Poems, the researcher examines a country struggling with the above-mentioned dynamics, class, ethnicity, and different dimensions of justice and injustice in Nigeria and the way forward. Using the qualitative method of research as her major source of information, the researcher brings out the differences and tensions as a result of societal affiliations and interrogates issues that affect the Nigerian legal system, as the enactment and enforcement of laws in Nigeria is a big problem. The findings revealed that the justice issues facing Nigeria today are a result of violations of human rights by arrogant politicians who see themselves as demi-gods and who lack the zeal and basic knowledge to move the country to its next level. These groups of politicians or leaders believe that stealing from the nation’s treasury is the ultimate.
