ABSTRACT:
In the contemporary educational landscape, the role of educational institution leaders is of utmost significance. With the rapid evolution of educational concepts, the advancement of teaching technologies, and the increasing complexity of educational management, they are required to possess robust leadership capabilities. A professional leadership development system can contribute to enhancing these abilities. However, there is a shortage of adequate research in this area. This study aims to fill this gap by employing methods such as literature reviews, surveys, interviews, and case studies across diverse educational institutions.
The research has identified key leadership skills, including strategic thinking and communication, as well as essential knowledge areas like organizational change theory. It has also evaluated the advantages and disadvantages of existing professional development programs, revealing that time constraints, financial shortages, and technological challenges impede leadership development, while institutional support and mentorship play a facilitating role. Based on these findings, an innovative leadership professional development system framework and implementation plan have been proposed. The research results can offer valuable references for educational institutions, policymakers, and leaders, which is conducive to enhancing educational leadership, improving educational quality, increasing staff satisfaction, and promoting better student performance.
