Dr.Teresa Ferrer

ABSTRACT:

Technology, and specially the use of AI (Artificial Intelligence) is the tool than can move our knowledge deeper and further, fostering creativity, increasing human cognitive load and our understanding of the current era.
This paper delves into the main elements within the current Technosphere and how do they relate with each other. It offers guidance to deploy ways on which K-12 educators can emphasize the paper of the Arts and their relationship with knowledge acquisition in maturing individuals. Knowledge on Literature, Visual Arts and Music are core to the creation of deep understanding of human nature and conferring a sense of being culturally aware to our youngsters.
On the other side, and focusing on Science, Mathematics and Technology, St Peter’s School has included in the K-12 curriculum subject areas such as Prompt Engineering, Neuroscience, Biotechnology and Space exploration, as a base for the students’ knowledge on the technical and more up-to-date areas. As a complement to this subsection of the curriculum St Peter’s School offers traditional core subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Computer Science. In essence, this paper presents the organic curricular structure at St Peter’s School with the Arts as central piece of what we call the current Technosphere. The paper offers an outline to deploy this framework in a K-12 classroom setting with examples on implementation as case studies.
