Nukarova Marjona Kayimovna

ABSTRACT:

This article provides an analysis of the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) results in Uzbekistan, based on assessments conducted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). PISA serves as a benchmark for evaluating the performance of education systems globally, and the release of recent results in Uzbekistan has generated considerable interest and discussion. Through an examination of these findings, this study aims to identify the strengths and weaknesses of Uzbekistan’s education system, highlight areas for improvement, and offer insights into its standing within the global educational landscape.
The main objectives of this research are to find out the challenges in the preparatory process of PISA in Uzbekistan according to the OECD data analysis and to analyze the national assessment curriculum and compare it with the PISA reading scale, also to align the reading assessment system in Uzbekistan with successful country models. The study employs a mixed-methods approach, including quantitative and qualitative methodologies. In quantitative methods, I analyze the PISA data for Uzbekistan, focusing on factors such as student performance. Statistical analysis helps identify patterns and correlations that may indicate underlying challenges in the preparatory process. To supplement the quantitative analysis, I will conduct interviews and surveys to gather in-depth perspectives from stakeholders involved in PISA preparation. Through qualitative data, I aim to uncover nuanced challenges and provide context to quantitative findings.
This research will contribute to a better understanding of PISA and the problems and solutions associated with its preparatory processes in Uzbekistan. The findings of the study will be of interest to policymakers, educators, and researchers concerned with improving student achievement within Uzbekistan’s education system.
