The Impact of Technology Integration on the Development of Language Skills in English Classrooms: A Comprehensive Analysis

ABSTRACT:

This study explores the impact of technology in developing language skills in English classrooms. In recent years, technological tools such as YouTube, TED Talk, and gamified learning platforms such as Quizlet have been used in classrooms to facilitate the language learning process. This study presents a comprehensive analysis of how these tools impact students’ language acquisition, engagement, and overall learning outcomes. To find relevant data, a mixed-method approach was used which involves both quantitative data and qualitative data. The first method is used to generate students` responses and assessments, while the second is used to gain insights from teacher interviews. The research aims to investigate the effectiveness of technology integration in different classroom settings. The results indicate that technology significantly improves language skills through interactive exercises, especially listening and speaking.  However, in the Albanian setting, there are some challenges such as limited access to technology, lack of teacher training, and the need for balanced pedagogical approaches. This study recommends useful ways for teachers trying to maximize language skill development in this digital area and contributes to continuous debates on best practices for including technology in English language instruction.
