The Policy of Inclusion in Education in Senegal

ABSTRACT:

Education policy is part of the public policies of a State. Indeed, education is the process or set of processes which underlie changes in behavior and the development of intellectual, moral and physical faculties by integrating the means and results of this developmental activity. But it is also an institutional reality and is a political domain because it represents a collective organization regulated by statutes and laws and materialized by institutions and rules, decrees, regulations, programs and instructions which support them. The school inclusion policy deals with the integration of students with physical or mental disabilities.  This research consists of a theoretical part relating the notion of disability, different definitions useful for understanding it, the concept of educational inclusion and its evolution, disability at school by addressing the different types of schooling at Senegal as well as strategies developed by the Ministry of National Education to promote inclusion at school.
