Analysis of Psychosocial Risks in A Higher Education Institution During the 2022/23 Academic Year and Strategies for A Well-Being, Health and Work-Life Program

ABSTRACT:

This study presents the results of research conducted with employees at a Higher Education Institution (HEI) in Portugal during the 2022/23 academic year, about evaluate and identify the main psychosocial risks. This institution comprises six schools and has 580 staff members. The evaluation methodology applied was the average version of the Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire (COPSOQ II) to a sample of 162 participants. The COPSOQ II is a questionnaire for assessing psychosocial risks, which allows for a comprehensive diagnosis of these factors and has international consensus regarding its validity (Silva et al., 2014). Psychosocial risks are currently the greatest challenge to the health and safety of workers in Europe (OPP, 2015). The main objective of this study is to consider the psychosocial risks identified as an opportunity for development in the workplace, with a view to improving working well-being conditions, considering the implementation of a series of measures that promote a relational work environment and overwhelming. With this study it was possible to identify the most frequent psychosocial risks in the institution, such as the number of work tasks that need to be responded to, making it possible to plan interventions by managers in order to manage these tasks, as was also the case. It is essential to identify that the possibility of personal development and career management is satisfactory in this higher education institution.
