Learning of a Fourth Order Linear Homogeneous Differential Equation with Chat GPT In Engineering Students

ABSTRACT:

The purpose of this research work in teaching was to understand the learning of a fourth order linear homogeneous differential equation with Chat Gpt in engineering students of the Universidad de Antofagasta in Chile, during the second semester of 2023. This research followed a qualitative case study approach. Personalized interviews with three questions, associated with the general objective and the two specific objectives respectively, were conducted with two students of the differential equations course, chosen at the will of the researcher. It was found that the perceptions expressed about the use of this artificial intelligence are very required and valuable, evidencing what was stated by several authors of educational informatics and by the Ministry of Education in Chile about the great achievements that it is having in people and in several fields of science. Finally, it can be induced that the appreciation of Chat Gpt enriches the form of algebraic determination of the computation, which generates facilities in the teaching and learning processes.
