ABSTRACT:

Patient anxiety before and after all surgeries is quite common and is often accompanied by patient psychological stress and uncertainty about the outcome of the surgery. This anxiety may be caused by concerns about the way the surgery will be performed, physical recovery after surgery, possible side effects and complications, or the outcome of the surgery. This study optimized traditional text into image health education leaflets and used the Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA) to investigate head and neck cancer patients to understand whether the informational image method can improve the understanding of the health education leaflets and reduce Anxiety about the postoperative course. The results showed that patients who read the optimized image health education leaflets had better awareness of health education than those who read the text health education leaflets. Anxiety has a mutual influence on the cognitive survey results of self-perceived caregiving.
