Dr. Alma Karasaliu
ABSTRACT:
Translation studies have increasingly embraced interdisciplinary approaches to address the complexities of modern communication, education, and globalization. This paper focuses on the integration of translation with other disciplines such as technology, business, and education, focusing on the role of emerging tools and practices in transforming both the translation process and pedagogy. Moreover, utilizing insights from recent advancements in digital translation tools, multimodal communication, and the alignment of translation with sustainability goals, this study explores their implications for students, translators and educators as well. Furthermore, the challenges of balancing linguistic accuracy with cultural sensitivity, ethical considerations, and technological adaptability are pointed out through qualitative analysis and carefully selected case studies. Our key findings highlight the potential of interdisciplinary methods to enhance critical thinking, foster global citizenship, and bridge gaps between cultures and professions. Finally, this research underscores the necessity of human empathy and emotional intelligence in an era when translation acts as a transformative force in fostering inclusion, understanding.
