Mihai ȘTEFĂNOAIA , Mihaela RUS, Carmen -Mihaela BĂICEANU
ABSTRACT:
Juvenile delinquency represents a complex and delicate social issue. The psycho-legal perspective combines knowledge from the fields of psychology and law, analyzing both the psychological factors involved in delinquent behavior among youth and the legal aspects relevant to managing and preventing juvenile delinquency.
This paper will focus on analyzing the psycho-legal perspective on juvenile delinquency, exploring theoretical aspects, empirical research, and effective interventions in this domain. The aim is to highlight the importance of an integrated approach that takes into account both psychological and legal dimensions in order to develop comprehensive and sustainable solutions for managing juvenile delinquency.
One important facet of juvenile delinquency is the study of risk and protective factors. Psychological and social research has identified several factors that can influence the likelihood of a young person developing delinquent behaviors. These factors may include individual traits, such as antisocial personality characteristics or behavioral disorders, as well as environmental influences, such as dysfunctional families, substance abuse within the family, affiliation with antisocial peer groups, and communities with high crime rates.
