ABSTRACT:
The accreditation of SAEK Thermi (Experimental Higher Vocational Training Institute) as an Erasmus Plus organization represents a significant achievement, enhancing its international outlook and adaptability to modern educational and professional challenges. Digital skills are increasingly vital for professional growth, aligning with the EU’s Digital Decade objectives. This study investigates the enhancement of specific digital skills among SAEK Thermi students during their mobility experience. The research employed a quantitative questionnaire completed by 70 students both before and after their Erasmus Plus participation. The questionnaire measured 36 variables categorized into five key areas of digital skills. The results of the SEM analysis revealed significant progress in Online Collaboration, particularly through the use of collaborative tools, as well as in the development of students’ professional digital identity. Furthermore, improvements were observed in the effective use of digital communication tools, which supported teamwork and interaction among participants. These findings highlight a systematic and structured approach to fostering digital competencies before and after mobility. The study also underlined the connection between enhanced digital skills and labor market expectations. Partner organizations positively assessed the skills developed during the program, prioritizing the participating students for internships and highlighting their readiness for future job roles in a competitive labor market. In conclusion, Erasmus Plus mobility serves as an essential framework for developing key digital skills, which contribute to the employability and professional advancement of Vocational Education and Training students. The program not only supports individual growth but also bridges the gap between education and the evolving demands of the workforce.
