ABSTRACT:

Public and private organizational leaders frequently do not recognize the value of sonic therapeutic intervention in de-escalating kleptocracy. The researcher explored the lived experiences of eight sonic therapeutic intervention (STI) practitioners regarding STI for kleptocracy de-escalation. The data collection methods of the qualitative hermeneutic phenomenological study involved semi-structured interviews of purposeful samples and document reviews. The interview transcription data analysis produced four themes: sonic therapeutic intervention enabled consequentiality mindset, integrity, post-conventional consciousness, and high self-control. The emerged four themes listed helped with non-engagement in kleptocratic behavior. Implications for positive social change include enhanced kleptocracy de-escalation and more significant value-based and people-oriented leadership. Also, if implemented, the study results have the potential for the citizens’ economic empowerment and the enlightening of government leaders and anti-corruption agencies on a cost-effective strategy to de-escalate kleptocracy.
