ABSTRACT:
The business world is increasingly demanding more professionals capable of working in teams to solve problems with greater agility and efficiency. This study aims to determine the level of teamwork skills of vocational training students in Spain and their relationship with extracurricular variables such as multidisciplinary and international work, professional internships, specific training for teamwork, sports practices and type of sport practiced (individual, team). A cross-sectional observational design was used with a probabilistic sample of subjects. A total of 596 intermediate and advanced students from different vocational training specialities (312 men and 284 women) took part in the study. Among the main results, we highlight the high level of mastery of teamwork skills of vocational training students, as well as their participation in extracurricular activities, especially sports. Participation in multidisciplinary and international work and sports practice influence the mastery of different teamwork skills, especially adaptability, decision-making and leadership. These findings provide a more complete picture of vocational students’ training for the world of work and may be an indicator of their ability to face challenges, adapt to changing environments and collaborate effectively with other professionals.
