ABSTRACT:

This paper discusses practice in the educational context in which undergraduate students at a Portuguese private higher education institution play active roles as organizers, facilitators, and speakers in a seminar. The study seeks to evaluate the effectiveness of this approach, highlighting the unique experience in which students take the lead in creating and running a seminar, inviting both teachers, family, and fellow students to take part in the event. The approach employed involved examining student testimonials to gain insights into how this practice affects teaching and learning, student motivation, and the enhancement of their presentation abilities. The results suggest that the active participation of students as speakers in seminars promotes a more dynamic and collaborative educational atmosphere. The collected data revealed the impressions of the speakers regarding the quality of the presentations and their work. This study aims to contribute to the scientific literature by highlighting the importance of active teaching strategies, leading students to lead their own learning experiences. Through the results, it will be possible to evaluate and improve pedagogical practices. words.
